I'm not a girly girl & avoid heavy perfumes, tons of makeup or loads of jewelry-much prefer to throw on a pair of shorts & be ready for an afternoon drive to explore a small town, antique shop or just find an interesting restaurant for a relaxing lunch.

I retired early to care for my Mother before she passed at the age of 94, which consumed my time for over 3 years. I kept my promise to never put her in a nursing home.

I love being outdoors & absolutely detest the dreary Michigan winters especially since I lived in sunny Florida for 5 years & southern California for one. I find gardening to be relaxing & enjoy spending time “digging in the dirt”. The sound of birds & crickets, a light breeze, sunshine & flowers bring peace. Have always enjoyed being on or near the water & have done some sailing. For several years, I made & sold crafts (primarily dolls) in local craft shows until it became too difficult for one person. Gave up on downhill skiing when I faced the fact that I would never get better than intermediate/novice.

I realize long distance relationship can be difficult, but my special someone may not be just around the corner (or we probably would have met already)-so I like to keep my options open.
