I want a love so real, it'll scare me

I don't know how to describe myself , despite my chosen profession, so anything I write and you read will be an adventure.Over my life, I've been a concert promoter, aVP in television, the head of programming for Toronto's ROM, the founder of my own company. I've also been married twice, once divorced (amicably) and once widowed. I've travelled with a back pack through Europe and then, not ... because I love room service.Let's get the crappy bits out of the way now: I don't cook, unless you count toast. However, I'm very good at being appreciative. My favourite food? I love finger food: sushi/tapas/appetizers. Because I don't cook, I hate grocery shopping, which is OK because I don't drive either.( I do love being driven though: fall fairs are big faves).That about does it, I think.Here's some of what I do well: I can love with all my heart,in many ways. I lug my fair share of heavy objects. I kill my own spiders and change my own light bulbs.I wear jeans for work and play but can do the required wardrobes while amusing guests or consulting with my clients.

I spent 5 years as the Manager of Programming at Toronto's Royal Ontario Museum. I got through events by wearing a female version of a tuxedo. Besides, Iwasn't rich.I couldn't afford new dresses when there were 4 events/week..

Toronto is my birth place,where I've spent most of my life,&I'd like to live there again. I like cities best, preferably the middle of them. Currently,I'm in amazing (!) Hamilton, whose new motto seems to be, "Art is the new steel",summing up the city perfectly. Love to read and usually I have 3 or 4 books on the go at any one time. For the past few years, I've been reading everything I can find on the 2008 financial crisis. Sometimes I'll have to read a book twice because this is certainly not the easiest stuff to understand. Right now I'm also reading early John le Carre spy novels because I just can't get enough of George Smiley. As far as movies, I honestly don't like so-called chick flicks or romcoms. I do like great documentaries, action/adventure, good sci-fi, and even good horror flicks as a guilty pleasure. I'm partial to Scandinavian and European films as well.Now to more basics: I love my high heels, my rescue dog, classic but fashionable clothes and I match best with a man who likes those too.He'll also have intelligence, wit, financial security, as well as good taste.

I'm very warm,open and uninhibited with the right man. Indulge in cheating though and you won't be my right man for long. I'm at a stage in my life where I want to be a guy's number one interest. And I want to be looked after because I've never really had that. I have to admit though that I don't like baseball caps unless the sun is truly blinding.I also wrote, somewhere above, that I'm looking for a relationship, long-term, but that doesn't have to mean marriage. It does mean working towards living together eventually, if we are lucky. Quickly now: Dogs over cats; dinner parties over noisy parties; red wine over white; scotch over red wine; sorta liberal over sorta not; real fabrics over man-made; Twitte over Facebook.

Finally, curiosity above all ... except for kindness, civility, the odd romantic surprise (something we should both do), empathy, passion, humour and, of course, where would we be without them ... good table manners.

to always remember to give compliments when deserved because I find this does not happen very often. You wouldn't believe what a huge difference this simple thing can make;
To always remember most of us can be mere weeks or months away from homelessness so I try to do things that might prevent that;
To never forget that children know much more than we give them credit for, and to act accordingly;
And that life really and truly is short and we should find and give love as much as we can.
