The Audacity of Hope" should have been my mantra when I moved to Northern New Mexico to save a 1920's adobe in the country. After over three years of scraping, scrubbing, painting and hiring contractors who end up doing inferior work and leaving before the job is done, I have come to the conclusion that I LIKE country casual--the imperfection of it all, don't you know. Truly, lemons to lemonade. But since my lemonade turned out to be less sweet than I intended, I am trying now to sweeten it with a new attitude of looking outward; more reading, more writing, more research, more friends, more travel and
especially, more positive thinking.

My new BFF would be intellectually challenging, but neither sarcastic nor narcissistic. He would have a dry wit that I would value above all else except honesty.
His honesty would come from a deep place within; from a respect of humankind but with the knowledge that earth life is, indeed, imperfect, and since we are all in it together, let's discuss.
