I got married shortly after leaving high school, raised two children and returned to school in the early 80’s. I graduated from UCI in 1987 with a BS in computer science.. From there I worked for a series of electronic manufacturing companies. I was in senior management for the Information Technology department (computers). I then went to work for Aware Consulting, where I had the opportunity of traveling all over the country solving companies computer problems and training them in how to use their ERP software. I’ve since retired and am enjoying the freedom retirement allows.
I have two children, a son, Chris, who is 41 and a daughter, Juli, who is 35. Both are married to delightful spouses…they made better choices than their mother. I’m lucky in that they both live here in Huntington Beach and I get to see them often. My daughter has two children, Anastasia who is 5 and Nicholas who is 18 months. Twice a week I am able to go up to Juli’s house for a couple hours of “gramma time”. Being a grandmother is great! I get to play with them and just have fun with them while my daughter gets to do all the work and responsibility of raising children. I have a sister and three brothers and all their children, all who live in the general area. We’re a close family and get together often for some sort of family gathering.
I like meeting with my friends for lunch or dinner. Actually, I like doing anything with my friends. I collect DVDs and enjoy watching them. I read books, fiction as well as non-fiction. I particularly like the fantasy type of story (knights and dragons and magic and all that stuff). Raymond Feist is one of my favorite authors. Along with Dean Koontz, Stephen King, and Robin Cook to name a few. Oh Wilbur Smith writes good books also. I enjoy traveling, and in the last ten years have spent a lot of time at Alfonsina’s on Gonzaga Bay along the eastern coast of Baja. It’s very beautiful and remote, a couple hundred miles south of San Felipe. My friend has a house on the beach and we flew down frequently. He has his own plane and taught me how to fly. I like being adventurous trying new things. I can’t believe life is so short and there won’t be enough time to do all the things I would like to. Oh, I almost forgot…I love computers, including playing computer games. Medieval fantasy RPGs are my favorite.
