Have fun, be informed, dance and laugh lots. Life is often too serious in America where we have such a complex society. After spending decades in mainly 3rd world countries, I am happy to be back home in America and I am looking for old friends and new. I build custom homes, play drums, ski, watch good movies, love great food and eating out, member Lloyds of London so in London UK quite a bit. Have a home in Cape Town I bought in 1997 and have lived there much of the last 26 years, spending time in Africa, Asia, Europe, Central America mostly doing volunteer work. Grew up in Santa Monica and Cape Town, South Africa when young. I first came to Bend in 1976 to ski at Mt Bachelor and have returned here many times to ski and enjoy the outdoors. I am very active, and spend time playing volleyball or raquetball or tennis. I am in very good health without having any health problems in life so count myself very fortunate and I look at life as an optimist seeing that it is how we view life that counts and we can decide whether we want to live happily or stressed. Growing up in the 1960s when life was much simpler everything seems a bit stressful now compared to then but it is only as stressful as you allow it to be. I believe we have the option and I choose happiness and gratefulness as my guides in life. I do not get involved in most of social media and I am involved in college/university classes for the last 20 years attempting to continually learn real facts and real truth about the world and societies and civilizations. I have raised many children just not my own. I have had 5 major relationships in my life and currently am single. I have a 8 year old cat who has traveled all over the world and is a great companion while traveling. I am going to be staying in the Bend area now for quite a long time again. I am looking for someone who has a free spirit, is not condemning or critical of others. I do believe in Christ and have read the New Testament about 30 times as it is a book of layers that one understands more the more you understand it. There is a volume of information in the New Testament that is not easily seen at first but is also simple for young readers and people who want the simple truth of what Christ was saying and promoting. I pray daily but I count on myself to get ahead as I think God/Christ is probably very busy with a trillion requests. I try not to add to his/her load but I am a doer of his requests, not just a reader, not a cafeteria Christian as it has been described. So faith is a big part of my life. I played drums for the Christian Church in South Lake Tahoe for about 8 years off and on. I also played at the Real Life Church in Bend for a couple years off and on. I am not into drama, and unfortunately some of my best friends from Hawaii and Europe who now live in Bend have chosen alcohol as their leader and this is very sad and there is nothing it seems I can do to help. Most of anything I like humor and laughing and having fun.
