Playing with my grandchildren, talking/laughing with family and friends, going to outdoor music events, going to art shows/museums, eating out with a few friends/family, going to outdoor craft events (Clay day in Asheville, street fair in Mt. Airy, etc.), walking through old hardware stores, walking (reverently) through old graveyards, reading, discussing various philosophies, going to flea markets, sitting outside in the cool of the evening and pondering the beauty around me - trees, leaves, clouds, sky, etc., swimming in the evening after the sun starts to fade, writing poetry, working on stained glass projects...enjoying life in general :-)

Someone who can carry on an intelligent conversation on topics other than ailments, who is compassionate, who sees humor and beauty in life. I've been through enough hard/bad times, as all our age have, but I don't like that to be the focus of a conversation. I'm not negating it because it is a part of what makes us who we are, but I don't like constant whiners and harbingers of gloom. I enjoy people who are open minded, artistic, creative, thoughtful, funny, etc. I'd like a friend who is just as happy sitting in front of the fireplace, reading a book or just talking, as he is walking in the crisp air or going downtown to listen to outside street musicians.
