71 and loves outdoor activities

I Would Describe Myself As

Retired, full of life at 71, enjoys almost any outdoor activity especially with a female friend/partner. Like to end the day with a nice dinner (dinning out or dinning in is ok with me) and relaxing under the stars or inside with an old movie or good TV lineup. Enjoy several day outings each month and a few three day to two week trips each year within the U.S.. Very flexible on places to visit and schedules. My primary outdoor inderest are desert and mountain travel, fishing, hiking, hunting, and taking roads less traveled and sightseeing. I am a "do it yourself " type person and enjoy almost any type project from yard work to maintenance on the house to building a cabin. I have a dog (labrador retriever) that adopted me. Wife passed away in 2007 and I am restarting my life with new friends, partner and/or future wife. My career made extensive use of my technical education, however at this point, I consider my career more history than affecting my lifestyle. My retirement income is more than sufficient to support my preferred life style. If you have some interests similar to mine, I would like to here from you. Not necessary to have all identical interests. One of my strong points is to be able to compromise when differences exist.

My Idea Of Fun Is

Taking a day outing with my partner to any one or more interesting places. This could be a picnic in a park, at a lake, or on a desert or forest trail. It could also be a visit to a National Park, a National monument or recreation site, almost any historical site, amusement park or any of a large variety of places. Also, three to two week trips to my cabin or most any other interesting place. Day outings and trips in the last six months included; several day outings to New Mexico desert hills and forests and several quail hunts, White Sands National Monument, Carlsbad Caverns, and Three River National Recreation Site; longer trips included visits to my cabin in NM, my home town of Bay City, MI, deer hunt in New Mexico, went with my son on his elk hunt in NM, visited son in Wimberley, TX, visited friend in Austin, Tx, The Alamo in San Antonio, Admiral Nimitz Museum in Fredricksburg, Tx, and to Tucson Arizona.
