Arlington, Texas | Woman Seeking A Man
Basic Information
I Would Describe Myself As
I wish I had the savvy to write this really great response to your profile. Problem is [seriously] I am new to all this and don’t really “know the ropes.”
I am 67 years old and single. I live in my own home in Arlington and work full time in law enforcement. I started out as a high school English teacher many years ago, but after almost four years I decided that a career in law enforcement was my passion. Back in 1970, women were not considered for guntoting federal agent positions and I became a Revenue Agent as well as tax law instructor for the IRS. In 1972/73 when federal law mandated that women be considered for special agent positions, I applied and was accepted for the position. As number 3 in the country I had many experiences that will stay with me forever.
Having reached the mandatory retirement age for federal guntoters—57—I retired and stayed home one day before returning to my former place of employment on a drug task force although now called a consultant/analyst. I love what I do and plan on staying here until I am 70.
I love to travel and have been to many places I never thought I would see. For now, I generally take two vacations a year, both of them cruises. Alaska is a must for me, just about every September. In the spring, I try out different places in the Caribbean.
I am into dog rescue and work with a no-kill group out of Nebraska that places dogs all over the country. I sometimes do home visits for them before they will place an animal locally in the DFW area. I have some rescues of my own and have decided that after they pass away, I will not increase my dog family so that I will have time to do some of the things that don’t entail having to be responsible for seeing to their best care available.
I was in a relationship that ended with his death after suffering his fourth stroke. He passed away at home and I can never thank Hospice enough for all the kindness and support that they provided.
I will tell you upfront that I haven’t dated a lot. I will also tell you that I despise liars and players, so if that’s your gig, please just delete me. I am happy in a business suit, cocktail dress or jeans and western shirts. If you’re interested, please respond. If not, I totally understand. Thanks for reading this……Bea
