I'm a very artsy type. I'm very easy going and I like to laugh. I've had a lot of responsibility in my life and I'm at the age now where I pretty much only have myself to worry about now. This kind of freedom and time to do whatever I'd like to do with mostly only myself to take into consideration is new to me, but it's mostly very pleasant, even exciting, if a little scarey, too, sometimes. I'm not even sure if I am dating material, to be honest. But, I am kind of starting my life over in a very interesting way and I'm rediscovering the self I was and am without kids and other people's needs coming first. I have four grown sons. Three live on their own. My youngest, 22, is very high functioning autistic and is not fully independent yet, although I do think he will be able to get there within the near future. If I didn't tell you he was autistic, though, you probably wouldn't be able to figure it out on your own. He's a great guy. All of my sons are great guys. In addition, I also have three grandchildren, two girls and one boy. They are all still very young. I usually go to see them about once a month. They live in Olympia and they are wonderful. I remain very close to my sons. I am very family oriented and like to have get-togethers with my family and friends. I also have an addiction to feeding people and picking up extra family members. I like to give back to my community as often as possible.

I'm currently out of work, but usually work in the clerical field. I do a lot of art and graphics on my own time and would like to try to work it into a career, under the right circumstances, eventually. I tend to relate best to creative people, other artists, writers, and musicians, but I tend to like most people. I have trouble with control freaks because I'm very free spirited and easy going. I like intelligent, open minded people, people who are interested in esoteric things, and people who like to travel and be a little challenged by learning and experiencing new things. I'd live in an RV if I could and travel all the time (or at least that's what I tell myself:D). I'd secretly like to make films. (Shh, don't tell anyone.) I love to be inspired and work on some piece of writing or artwork in a fever late into the night on occasion. I like to laugh and I like to relax. I'm not a very athletic person. I'm not good at sports. I only half-heartedly play board games and unless it's Pictionary. But I do like to have fun. I don't have a specific type of person I'm looking for. Appearance isn't a top priority for me. I think the weakness of meeting people on the computer is that you get the idea you can kind of order someone to specifications and those specifications can be pretty idealized. I think if you meet someone in person, you don't feel like you can pre-design them or pre-qualify them and are more open to discovering who they are in a more realistic and complex way. I think people limit themselves too much when trying to meet people on line and miss out on wonderful opportunities because someone is just not idealized enough in appearance or accomplishment. But here I am writing all this anyway. I am not ideal by any stretch of the imagination, either by accomplishment or appearance. I am, in fact, a work in progress. But I have a very warm heart and I'd like to meet others with a similar warmth of their own.

You know, the safest way to do one of those is with a group experience, like a big picnic or a social get-together. If I sound a little nervous, I am. It's been a long time for me. Maybe meeting for conversation and a coffee would be nice. I guess I feel I should ease into this whole thing, but I'll try to be brave if you will. I'm pretty flexible really, so if you've a good idea I haven't mentioned, great. What do you have in mind?

I'm a big one for learning new things of all sorts, and especially as pertain to things involving art, music, movies, theater, alternate spirituality, etc. I like taking classes. I'm not a real physical type, as in athletic, but I'm working on incorporating more of that into my life. I'd like to learn to dance maybe, like folk dancing or ballroom dancing. That would be a fun way to get more exercise.

Wonach suchst du?

I am just coming out of my shell. I've been alone for a very long time. I'd like to meet people, especially male people, ;). I'd like to socialize, get to know these new people, get comfortable, and then I may want to go into a closer, more intimate relationship, when and if there is someone out there I click with. I'm not ruling out intimacy in any way, but I don't think you get to that point with a person you've only met the day before. I like to believe all things are possible. I am easy going and spontaneous, so I feel I'd be able to react appropriately to whatever situation I found myself in. In other words, I'm not walking into this with preconceived notions. My hopes and expectations are to have fun and find myself more companionship and more challenge through meeting new people. And then? Who knows?
