Ich würde mich selbst beschreiben als

It's difficult for me to describe myself without feeling self-conscious. Basically, I am a single dad--my two children adult are in their twenties. My son lives with me and out two dogs; my daughter nearby. I am a conservative, orthodox Catholic, very pro-life. I have had a very adventurous life, I suppose that's the term, one filled with both thunder and sunshine. I enjoy the outdoors, hiking, big dogs (I have two), reading, watching DVDs, Mass, and daily prayers. I attend Saint John Cantius in Chicago whenever I can get there. I am a member of the NRA without having a firearm, and an Army veteran and member of the American Legion--when I pay my dues. I am passionate about life, both serious and funny, open to others' natural foibles and innate differences--and a believer in the Jewish foundation--the Catholic tradition--and the root values of our Republic. I work as a researcher and grant writer for the development office of a small Christian university and in a very pleasant environment.

I have always had a mischievous sense of humor though I made it for eight years with my then orthodox nuns (in full habit) without their normal use of corporal discipline for wayward lads like myself.

I try to see the world as God's own house and us humans as kinfolk of one sort or another. It helps to get past all the acquired and imposed superficialities.

I am seeking a soulmate and an eventual partner in this so brief and fleeting life together. Having one's own children is a big plus and your being able to converse is truly a blessing for me. A lovely first date might be just coffee, or a glass of wine, lunch and a walk in the park.

I am not a moral relativist, a materialist, or a "progressive" in all its jejune meanings these days. But I do enjoy all of God's good gifts.
