Basic Information
I Would Describe Myself As
Life is like a song, and while I enjoy singing solo, I'd rather be singing with someone special.
First let me tell you that I like to spend part of each day creating. This can mean singing or playing the bass guitar and the oboe (although not at the same time). It can also mean writing comedy (my current project is a standup act – it’s on my bucket list), songs, children’s books, or cartoons. But among these humor is my highest passion. It’s also one of my favorite skills because finding the humor in things helps keep you on the positive side of life.
My work at NIH is also very important to me – I definitely want to leave the world a better place than I found it. But playfulness at any age makes all of life so much more of a joy.
I enjoy all the usual - dining out, movies, weekend trips - but new adventures are great too. And travel is terrific - England, Bavaria, Portugal, and Guatemala are particular favorites. On the other hand, a simple walk around the neighborhood can, with the right person, be an amazing experience.
I am fascinated by learning more about - well, about just about anything. I like the quote: “The world is so full of a number of things, I think we should all be as happy as kings.”
I’m especially fond of the beasties. Dogs, cats, llamas – I like them all. And I’m happy to say that the feeling usually seems to be mutual.
Kung Fu helps me keep my body in shape and my mind at peace.
I strongly believe in caring for and about others. We’re all in this together.
Basically, I’m looking for someone to share and explore life with. Someone caring. Someone who appreciates music. Someone who loves animals and believes that they really do smile. Someone who's been around long enough to know that games in relationships are not the way to go. Someone who likes to share exploring and learning. And especially someone who has a quick and ready wit and is not afraid to use it.
So - I’m up for a good conversation on, well, just about anything (I’m also always up for chocolate - preferably dark - 70 or higher). Let’s talk, and see what we can explore together.
