I believe that Happiness is what happens when we are otherwise occupied in the service of others. It cannot be bought, sold or captured. We are permitted to revivify the memory and feeling as it is stored in the body and activated by touch. A.Landers was quoted “Opportunities are usually disguised as hard work but most people don’t recognize them.” It’s true that we all want opportunities. Opportunities to become more Successful, to be wealthy, to travel, to have amazing experiences, to enjoy meaningful relationships. We all want opportunities. But many people go through life disappointed, feeling that they never received the opportunities that they saw other people receive.
They feel that life is unfair and that they didn’t get the same breaks, the same chances, the same good fortune that others have found. Yet, if you were to investigate deeply the so-called opportunities that have catapulted others into impressive successes. In most every case you would find one key commonality. You see, almost every one of those people with great success was busy working hard when the opportunities came upon them. They had prepared themselves with knowledge, abilities and a determined work ethic so that when the right opportunity presented itself, they would be ready to take advantage of it. But they did something else as well. They actively sought out the opportunities that were almost hidden in plain sight. To most people, those opportunities just looked like a lot of hard work. And in fact, they WERE a lot of hard work. But they were the kind of hard work that would pay off impressively in the end. So as you go through these next few days, these next few weeks, and next few months, you need to do these three things: First: condition yourself to be a hard worker who performs at the highest levels of quality and integrity. Second, actively seek opportunities that are disguised as hard work.
