Jeg vil beskrive meg selv som
Full spectrum, filled with light; deeply connected to my Source. Adventurous, fun and full of life; I go where the Spirit leads. Attractive, healthy, intellectually probing, questioning, searching and discerning. Young in mind; body, well not so young, yet holding together pretty well...a nice vessel that holds a beautiful, peaceful, enduring and loving Spirit. Looking for someone who knows there are an infinite number of universes to discover, uncover and experience and a causal source where ideas spring forth that bring value, purpose and direction to life.
More about me,
I grew up in small farming community just South of Seattle, Washington during a time when it was just about as close to paradise as one could get. I sensed it then and as I reminisce with comparative musings some decades later, I would have to say it definitely was a special place during a special time; the tumultuous stirrings of a rebellious and questioning generation buffered amidst the backdrop of tranquil panoramic beauty.
During that time my own youthful rebellion, passion and frustrations were directed at horses and I would spend just about all my available and borrowed time riding, showing, grooming, and training them. That chapter of my life lasted many years but then the page turned and a new episode began; Alaska, the last frontier, (on earth, that is).
It was a subtle, gentle nudge at first, but the influence from a nudge standing on solid ground is different from a nudge standing on a precipice. Apparently I was standing on a precipice at the time because a job interview in Seattle landed me (literally) a position in Juneau, Alaska. I had less than a day to pack and catch the early morning Alaska Airlines flight. I was able to make it though, with the help and support of my family. When the plane landed I found myself in a strange, new, cold, dark land.
My Alaska adventure lasted 25 years, and like all adventures it was exciting at times and frightening at times. There were times of monotony but then there were also extraordinary, wondrous, awestruck moments when time stood still and what filtered in was a glorious glimpse of eternity.
That chapter of my life came to an end 6 years ago, when I moved to Arizona to help my Mother transition from a beautiful, intelligent very active woman to all the adjectives that are their opposite. It was a hard transition but we muddled through and my family has finally adapted like all strong Germans do.
I will have to confess that it has been a difficult transition to enter into an environment that is so completely opposite from that of Alaska. For one thing there was only one road and one stop light, (and that was put in just before I left). I have had to learn how to drive in traffic and worse than that I have had to develop more patience while waiting in lines at the grocery store. I also had to relearn how to shop at the mall, (that came quickly). My first excursion to Walmart was a mind-expanding experience….there was so many choices compared to the limited supplies available at the local hardware store, (no comparison shopping there). I really, really enjoy the sunshine though; the cold, dark winters are now becoming a faint memory of the past.
As I turn the page to get a glimpse of the next chapter of my life…the remaining pages are blank except for the heading of: What’s next?!
So what is your story, the adventure of your life so far?
