I Would Describe Myself As
I am continually learning and evolving, so who I am is ever-changing. But these are constants: loyal, honest, patient, good in a crisis, kind, and curious. My diet is mostly vegetarian, and I love all animals; so when I occasionally eat meat I feel such guilt over how they lived and died! I have cats and love them dearly. Two years ago I retired from teaching at Lake Michigan college - earth science and math. Miss my students! You will often find me exercising on the Kal Haven Trail - running or biking or walking.
As I have aged I realized that I am happier than ever, and I believe it is because I am immersed in the feeling of gratitude. I am a morning person - I wake glad to be alive and eager to experience another day and grateful for all that the new day will bring. I am a classic introvert - most college professors are as well. Sometimes I get anxious when I’m around too many people and have to find a quiet spot for a few minutes to recharge. Also I am basically a home body.
I have always had a healthy lifestyle and kept myself fit. I enjoy almost all foods. I am a pilot, skydiver, and scuba diver; but not current in those activities.
So, is this the place where I say what I want in a woman (in an ideal world)? I look for three general areas in a potential match:
(1) intellectual (the brain) - not how high her degree is, but rather curiosity, open mindedness, and eagerness to learn new things. Can we have good conversations about a variety of topics?
(2) emotional (the heart) - is she kind and loving? Does she have empathy? Is she honest and trustworthy?
(3) physically and sexually attractive (the body) - will we have a strong physical/sexual bond? Please bear in mind that sexual attraction is a delicious blend of brain, heart, and body. Will we be able to do physical outdoorsy activities together?
