I am semi-retired and live on a lake in East Texas. I like the more fun loving, casual, carefree lifestyle. I allow myself to be myself, live my life, take responsibility for my actions and situation and enjoy my experiences -- without trying to impress others or needing others to validate me. I try to come from a place of wanting to add value and genuinely help a situation. I am a political conservative and don’t see a relationship with anyone having a liberal mindset. I am confident and have a sense of humor.
I like to travel and enjoy doing most anything outdoors - hiking, traveling, sightseeing, cruising, boating, and fishing. I enjoy listening to the oldies and country and western music. I am easy going and non materialistic enjoying simple things like grilling outdoors, sitting on the deck watching the sunrise over the lake with a good cup of coffee (I still get up about 5:00 a.m. which I suppose is a negative for most people) or watching the sunset with good conversation. I enjoy going to the movies or just sitting on the couch and watching a movie together. While I do enjoy eating out, since I am in hotels and eating out for extended periods of time, I also enjoy a good home cooked meal. Some of the best places I enjoy eating are out of the way - hole in the wall type places that locals have recommended when I travel. I am an animal lover, but due to being out of town for weeks at a time, I do not currently have a dog.
I lived and worked in the D/FW area before retiring at 51 in May 2000 and moving to the lake house. Since retirement I have always worked part time as a consultant and currently have a job with the government. I get bored just setting around. When I work, I am out of town for weeks at a time usually with less than 24 hours notice and working long days. And, on the other hand I am sometimes home on leave for months at a time. Anyone I have a relationship with has to be understanding of my schedule.
I don’t belch or scratch in public, usually wear matching socks and fresh underwear, only snore lightly, usually don’t miss the toilet, and I understand that "Fine" is never an appropriate response when asked how you look. All kidding aside, I am a non materialistic, caring, fun loving, witty person that allows myself to be genuine and a good listener. I believe integrity, character, honesty, humility, a good sense of humor, loyalty and manners are still important in today’s world. Ultimately, I am looking for a relationship full of laughter and those special moments. She must be down to earth, easy going, without drama, responsible and basically a happy person. Last but not least, she must be attractive and confident with a sense of humor whom can become more than a best friend.
