I Would Describe Myself As
I like people and I’m interested in social ills, and their solutions, politics, eating out and writing about it ( YELP Elite for the last 4 years), movies, friendships, travel. Though not especially good at it, I enjoy dancing. I have not danced in many decades.
I am a licensed psychotherapist in another state and currently work as a Case Manager in a Shelter for unhoused families and plan to continue until I can’t do it any more.
I have been widowed for nearly 4 years. Like everyone else, I’m looking forward to coming out of this pandemic into something more normal.
For my don’ts: I follow no identified religious doctrine, but have no judgement of others’ beliefs. Please don’t try to convert me to your religious belief and I’ll respect you greatly. Sorry, but I also don’t have or like pets - maybe a goldfish or two, but no dogs, cats, reptiles, gerbils, etc. I know that eliminates many, but that’s me. I am also NOT athletic, though I enjoy a nice walk - a walk, not a hike. I love laughing and being able to see others laugh.
I am looking for friendship and someone who likes to be with others, go to movies, meals out or prepared by either or both of us. I love to talk but I’m also very good at listening.
I have 4 children, 5 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren and have a daughter and a daughter/niece who live close by.
I am aware that as we continue to age, we often find it easier to stick with what we believe we know than to try on new thoughts and ideas. I AM NOT ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE. I would like someone who is open to new thinking - specifically when it comes to social and political issues. I consider myself politically progressive.
