Ich würde mich selbst beschreiben als

Health-conscious, slender/fit, active child-free, animal loving, liberal (VERY), educated, with various interests: dancing, concerts, swimming, bicycling, gardening, hiking/walking, art (exhibits), participating rather than spectating, weekend or day-trips to interesting cities (Asheville, Chattanooga, New Orleans, Nashville, etc) as well as to the ocean, Nat'l/State Parks, mountains, other (?). I am not the person you'll be sky-diving with, but I'd go with you to pick up your splattered remains & arrange a very nice memorial service. I love my profession, but I don't exclude other parts of Life because of my work. I'm not financially wealthy, but I'm happy/content as I am. I don't drink or do (recreational) drugs (for a VERY long time now) & don't choose to spend time around people who get drunk or are always high, but I am comfortable with someone who has some wine or beer or a cocktail on occasion. I honestly DO enjoy trying new things, but there are limits to how insane "it" is...I white-water rafted for the first time about 4 years ago(see above sky-diving comment). I am the person who will get up on a stage in front of thousands of people and sing "Mercedes Benz" a capella for a Breast Cancer fund raiser (or just for the hell of it). I recently went to see some stand-up comics, and when the show was over 30 minutes late to start, I got on stage & started telling jokes (got some laughs & applause!). I have opinions; they don't have to match yours but I would expect you to respect them as I would yours (ideally, we'd have several opinions in common). I am NOT a supporter of organized religion(s), but I have learned/decided on my own spiritual beliefs. Again, respectful of others, but I don't see myself with someone who attends "services" on a regular basis or goes to Bible Study groups; I'm more likely going to be attending a Dream Interpretation group....I should probably mention that I'm not a native Southerner and am NOT a Southern Belle. I'm from NY originally (and proud of it!), lived in San Francisco for my early adulthood (hence, the uber-liberal slant), and "landed" in Athens in 1992 to attend the vet school at UGA. I don't stray far from Athens (unless it's a road trip) and see no good reasons to go to Atlanta unless Clapton or some other musical icon were playing there. After growing up in NY & then living in SF, Atlanta just does not get my blood pumping. MAYBE you could change my mind, but it would be a real challenge. I am a work in progress and always ready to at least consider the next evolution/episode in my Life.
