I'm a happy, optimistic and engaging type of guy. Am the proud Dad of two wonderful daughters, both finishing college in 2013. Am still in the workforce and love my work -- plan on exiting that in 3-4 years. I especially enjoy travel and have had the good fortune to have seen several parts of the world and much of the U.S. Pride myself on pre-travel study of phrases and customs. Like entertaining and being with 2-3 other couples. The consummate DIYer on the home front. Like working on cars…something of a shade tree mechanic. Relax by playing the piano. Am also a woodworker. Am fond of cooking, either for one other person or for several couples -- planning, preparing, cooking, presenting -- the best part being the conversations that flow in that setting.

Think I've reached most of them by this point, and am happy with my choices. Sometimes amazed at what a lucky and charmed life it's been. Lifelong goals have always been to be happy, be a Dad, and attain inner peace (working on that last one...). Now in "Chapter Two", after 23 years of marriage, I'm hoping to find a life partner who's at ease with herself, is happy and optimistic, loves adventures big and small, and lives life through communication, compassion, and kindness.

When it comes to the pure joy that is the male-female dance of two people getting to know each other, and partnering, I follow my instincts more than cultural roles and expectations. Looking for a partner who feels the same way. Believe that it requires equal effort by each person to make a relationship comfortable, fulfilling and content (and crazy and tumultuous at times, too!).
