I am a 71-year-old woman who, until relatively recently, thought that I would perfectly content to live alone after 40-odd years of marriage. A number of things have brought me to change my mind. I’m semi-retired, working three days a week as a clinical consultant and endeavouring to work myself out of a job. I worked pretty much full time for 30+ years. I have two grown children who live on their own.
I try to live with an attitude of gratitude, and as the Buddha says, “Above All, Compassion”. I also endeavour to live in a way that is consistent with my values and principles, the primary of which is honesty. I frequently find this really hard.
I feel like I need to put my big toe in the shallow end to test the waters rather than dive in the deep end. I know that I can be a very loving friend or companion or partner to someone should it come to pass.

It would be most lovely if we happened to have something in common. Depending on the weather, going to a park (with excellent mosquito repellent) to talk and walk would be great.
